“Can you do your homework?” I ask my student. “Come on mister… you know I do not like homework.” Over time I have heard something like this a lot of times. In actuality, I think now I am running into this response more than I did just a short decade ago. I need to admit that this lack of work is worrying me a little. But… all isn’t lost… there’s still hope… We can still win.
But first, take a look at this insight: If so many people are unwilling to do their own homework, or go the extra mile, especially when things get tough, consider what that means for the rest of us who do our own homework and going the extra mile in all that we do. Going the extra mile, or doing our own homework, automatically puts us hard workers, ahead of most people because we have already developed the habit of doing more, or doing additional. We’re more responsible. Turning the word responsible around just means that we are able to respond. And is not that what we actually want in this life; to be able to respond?
You see, where most people stop, is normally the same stage where responsible winners are just getting warmed up and prepared to begin for real. So, if you’re one these winners that keep going… CONGRATULATIONS! Just keep doing what you are already doing… and if you are a person who is frustrated because you haven’t seen positive results yet, don’t worry. Rome was not built in one day, and neither will your colossal dream life be built in one day. However, over time it’ll be built as long as you keep your habit of doing extra. And that doing extra all starts with doing your own homework.
Now adolescents, go learn, lead, and put the way to a better world for all of us. Remember it pays always to do your own homework. And once again, thanks in advance for all that do, and everything you will do…
